GM's are like London-Buses,wait for ages for one and FOUR turn up all at once.This is the Westbury-Eastleigh engineers tripper "7O41" crawling up the Upton-Scudamore Incline at Dilton-Marsh.Loco's were in order 66116/66063/66078 and 66170,then some NR ballast wagons.Only 66116 was powering,rest were in consist purely to get them to Eastleigh for further use elsewhere,indeed within an hour of arriving there, the front two were off the Wembley with an enterprise working.Also note the drivers "Size-10" boot resting on the dashboard!! ..28 april 2009..

This working was heavily delayed by an incident on the B@H at Midgham where a tree had collapsed across the line,trapping a Turbo unit!..However line eventually reopened and "7C31" finally made it the the Quarry at Merehead about 2 hours late! Noteworthy is inclusion of 59202 behind the train engine 59001.This was out on test after its "failure" to perform on the Petroleum Tank Train Test last Tuesday..24 april 2009..

Weekend engineering train seen passing Styles Hill nr Frome on the journey from Westbury to Luxulyan near to Goonbarrow(6W31).Loco was 66049.Target train was the next one down with 60011 in charge,eagerly expected,we saw it in the distance going into Frome proper seemingly to allow an hst to pass........But No! the thing had failed with low coolant and went no further.This news "leaked out" 90mins later after it had been dragged back to Westbury.......YOU could not write it! ..14 march 2009..

Newest member of the "Fastline" family 66304 is seen as it rushes out of Wickwar Tunnel at full line speed with "4G09" coal empties from Chaddeston nr Derby to Portbury Docks for a refill of 3rd-World-Coal. So here we will have an American Locomotive hauling Polish wagons full of certainly Non-English coal returning north......And people wonder why our national debt is so high and our economy is in such a mess ????? ..10 march 2009..

About the only freight-flows experiencing any growth at the moment are for the Armed forces associated with the conflict in the Middle-East.Here is seen a working for the MOD from Didcot to Warminster (REME) at Beechgrove sidings there.After being dormant for many years this site has seen quite a few movements in the last year. 66169 is seen climbing Upton Scudamore bank approaching Warminster with a short train of Tanks and Ambulances and the usual ferry-van.Picture a bit head-on here but really not much choice of venue to shots as only 4 miles from Westbury to Warminster! ..21 february 2009..
