The Lymington Branch 2009
8th September 2009

This short branch-line in Hampshire is unique as it is still mainly the preserve of the two remaining 'Slam-Door' Mk-1 type units left on the entire former Southern-Region.Pictures shown are of '1497' a 3-CIG running in the old BR livery of Cream and Blue.Rumours persist that these 'slammers' are to be replaced before the end of the year.If you want to 'Do' them it really is 'now or never'!

Passing the carpet of heather in this open space of the New-Forest nr Battramsley is 'Slammer' 1497 heading the 13:59 to the Coast from Brockenhurst'. When I left home cloud-cover was 100% and was not sure what? if either of the two 3-Cig's was going to be operating today.Any-way,Right Unit and Right Light so a pretty good day all round. The pint of Amstel in the Quay Pub next to the line was nice as well! ..08 september 2009..

Rapidly disappearing towards Brockenhurst on the 13:44 from the Pier is the(In my opinion) better of the two liveries on offer here on this line, the other one(1498) is the old Southern-Green..08 september 2009..
