Hi Tom, congratulations on having such a diverse and interesting site, well done. Secondly, I was at St Margarets MPD just nine days after you took this photo. It was my first-ever visit to Scotland (one night & the following day, ending up at Carlisle via the Waverley route), I had a crap camera (Kodak 44A), a very limited supply of 12-exposure film, which had to last a week. One of the FOUR I managed to take in Scotland was of 65234. It can be seen here: http://daverowland.fotopic.net/c1354434.html along with the other three photos! (all edited a bit). A bit of a poor total, considering my mate & I also visited Hamilton, Eastfield, Polmadie & Corkerhill MPDs. Oh to be thrown back there again with a digital camera... All the best, Dave.

Here stands in glorious sunshine after last nights disaster 47854 showing signs of the self inflicted damage when this engine decided to literally burst into flames as it was approaching Westbury last night with "1Z48",the Nenta tour heading back to Norwich from Kingswear.Loco was eventually pushed into Westbury by the engine on the rear (47804) where efforts to put out the fire resulted in all extinguishers on loco being exhausted!,the FGW ones on the station were locked up and as no staff on duty could not be used, fire brigade turned up (3 tenders),they had to use hydraulic cutters to get through the spiky-fence gate but managed to put out the by now just smouldering bogie. All passengers were de-trained(just in case of a possible nuclear explosion!) Train eventually got under way after about 2 1/2 hours.Assisting loco was added at Reading but train terminated at Ely short of its destination due to Engineering work on the line to Norwich.By this time tour was running 138 mins late! Buses laid on to get passengers home......A good day out, about 24 hours at a guess.Who said rail-tours were not good value for money!!!!!!..19 april 2009..

The Machen stone flow from Westbury"6B84" trundles through the timeless setting of Sydney-Gardens on the Approach to Bath-Spa Station. 66043 in charge.Regretfully the 'Health&Safety' Jobsworth-Twats have decided that this idyllic setting, despite being here virtually untouched for nearly 160 years allows people much to close to trains and have announced a plan to fence off the railway thus destroying the whole purpose for the Gardens. My God! there is truly no hope for this country, lets put spiky fence up in every town on every pavement as well, just in case, they are all a bunch of paranoid psyco misguided suicide merchants..05 may 2009..

Absolutely stonkin' shot Sir! Fantastic Regards Callum

After a long wait here at Wareham Station under crystal skies a certain amount of cloud cover bubbled up as 'train-time' approached. However just about scraped an acceptable shot of the 'Purbeck-Growler',the 06:04 from Crewe to Swanage hauled by 37706 and 37516,West-Coast having supplied also a nearly matching set of coaches.Traffic over the flyover here was intense! Just imagine the jams if the old crossing gates were still here!..26 september 2009..

Who would park their car in a place like that? Probably the guy whose house was about 10ft out of shot, anyway looks suspiciously like a Notwork-rail spot so clamping probably in order!

My Focus Long-Gone,had Jerry Steele's Vectra for a year now moved on to the latest Zetec-Fiesta.Nearly same size as my old Focus to good enough...Actually quite like cars in the shot as gives a bit of perspective and all that...............

Today was the first day of my retirement from working after 44 years and one month, and boy does it feel good! However no such luck for 47839 'Pegasus' seen here running down past Hinksey-Yard with '6Z48' from Burton to Dollands-Moor with the steel-import empties. This Loco now in its 45th year and still going strong, long may it last..01 october 2009..

Riviara's D1916/47812 took a turn on the Burton-Dollands Steel today.Despite the dire light (500th@1.8 800asa) this shot was attempted at Culman as '6Z48' sped through running pretty much to time.Just 10 wagons today and probably the last time I will see this working as is due to finish before Xmas..29 october 2009..

Culham. Think its the last running of 6z48 next week (5th Nov 09)

Whilst 60011 waits for its path on to the Branch for Westerleigh with '6B13' from Robeston the NMT,presumably '1Z12' heads north away from Bristol going to Birmingham and beyond.Quite a surprise this chance shot particularly with two of the more interesting pieces of traction in the same frame! Location is Yate Station nr Bristol..06 november 2009..
